Terms

Qube accounts and the family plan, US$5 per year, at account.qubesoftware.com

English · Last updated October 22, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Qube, LLC (“Qube,” “we”) about Qube accounts, the optional parent accounts at account.qubesoftware.com, and the Qube family plan, which lets a parent link the family's devices and back up each player's progress in Qube games. The Privacy Policy, Data Retention, and Parent Rights explain what we keep and the choices you have.

By signing in to or using a Qube account, you agree to these terms. Before you pay for the family plan, the account site shows you its price, that it renews automatically every year, and how to cancel, with a link to these terms; joining the plan is agreeing to them for the plan too. If you don't agree, please don't use Qube accounts: every Qube game plays free without one.

Qube accounts are in a pilot

Qube accounts are new, and open by invitation while we test them with a small group of families. During the pilot:

  • Everything an account offers is free. The family plan isn't on sale yet, so nothing needs it, and nobody is charged.
  • Things will change as we learn, and some may break. We'll tell you on the account site, or by email, about any change that affects what you keep or what you pay.
  • Please tell us what works and what doesn't, at admin@qubesoftware.com. See Feedback, below.

The sections below about the family plan (its price, renewal, refunds, and lapses) apply once it's on sale.

The short version

  • The family plan is US$5 per year, billed once a year, plus any sales tax.
  • It renews automatically every year until you cancel.
  • Cancel any time at account.qubesoftware.com. Your plan keeps working until the end of the year you've paid for.
  • Payments aren't refundable, except where the law requires a refund or we agree to one.
  • Every Qube game is free to play, with or without an account or the plan. If your plan ends, games keep playing, and the progress on each device stays there.
  • You buy the plan from Link, Stripe's checkout, which sells it for us. Your card statement shows a charge starting with LINK.COM*.

Who can have an account

Only a parent holds a Qube account. (On these pages, “parent” means the adult who holds the account.) You sign in with your email address and a code we email you, and you manage your family's profiles yourself. Children never sign in, and never have an email address or a password with us.

A family has one parent account. Each profile is managed from that account, and a second parent's account can't manage it too.

To hold a Qube account or buy the family plan, you must:

  • be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that's older;
  • be the parent or legal guardian of each child whose profile you add, as you confirm when you add it; and
  • give us an email address that's yours, and keep access to it.

You're responsible for what's done in your account, and for keeping your email and your recovery codes safe: anyone who has them can get into it. Tell us straight away at admin@qubesoftware.com if you think someone else has.

What the family plan covers

Accounts are optional, and every Qube game plays free without one. The family plan is what an account adds, in games connected to Qube accounts (Dragon Hatchery is the first):

  • a profile for each player, which you manage;
  • linking the family's devices, each one with your approval; and
  • backing up each player's progress, so it's safe if a device is lost, and the same profile can play on each of its linked devices.

Linking a device, adding a profile, and backing up need an active plan. Signing in, seeing, downloading, correcting, and deleting your family's information, revoking devices, and withdrawing consent never do: your rights over your family's information never depend on the plan. The plan doesn't cover our other apps, such as Backpocket or Allowance by Qube.

The family plan may open in two steps. First, families can join while nothing needs a plan yet. Later, linking a device, adding a profile, and backing up need one. We'll announce that second step on the account site and email every account holder at least 30 days before it starts. While nothing needs a plan, a plan that ends pauses nothing, and its 90 days (see When a plan lapses) don't start until a plan is needed.

Household limits

One plan covers one parent account, with:

  • up to 10 player profiles; and
  • up to 10 linked devices per player in each game at a time. A link that's been revoked or has expired doesn't count.

There's one plan, for the whole family: no larger plan, and no plan for a single game. We may raise these limits at any time. If we ever lower them, we'll tell you at least 30 days before, and you can cancel before the change and have your most recent payment back in full.

Price, tax, and currency

The family plan is US$5 per year, billed once a year: when you join, and on each renewal. In US dollars, any sales tax is added on top: the checkout shows the tax and the total before you pay. Where prices must include tax, as they must with VAT in the European Union and the United Kingdom, you'll see one price in your own currency with the tax already included. If your card is in another currency, your bank converts the amount and may charge a fee for doing so.

The launch rate

Join before 2027, and keep your US$5 per year rate. Because sign-up hasn't opened yet, every family gets a fair chance at it: the launch rate is yours if you join by whichever of these is later:

  • the end of December 31, 2026, anywhere on Earth (12:00 UTC on January 1, 2027); or
  • 90 days after sign-up for the family plan opens.

You've joined when your first payment for the plan goes through and isn't refunded. You then keep the launch rate for as long as your plan keeps renewing. If your plan lapses, rejoining before your family's backups are deleted (see When a plan lapses) keeps the launch rate too. US$5 per year is the only price we've set. If we ever charge new families more, your price won't change while you keep the launch rate.

Automatic renewal

Your plan renews automatically every year, for US$5 per year plus any sales tax, until you cancel. Each renewal is charged to the card you paid with, or the one you've changed it to, when the year you've paid for ends. When you join, you authorize Link to charge US$5, plus any sales tax, to that card each year, on your renewal date, until you cancel.

Link emails you a receipt for each payment, and a reminder at least 7 days before each yearly renewal, with the date and the amount. You can cancel online at any time, as the next section explains: no phone call or email needed.

Cancelling

Cancel any time at account.qubesoftware.com: sign in and choose Cancel at renewal on your family plan. It doesn't need a code from your email. Your plan keeps working until the end of the year you've paid for, and then it doesn't renew. Until then, you can choose Reactivate plan.

Cancelling stops the next renewal; it doesn't refund a payment. For that, see Refunds, below.

Refunds

Payments for the family plan aren't refundable, except where the law requires a refund or we agree to one. If you have a question about a payment, email us at admin@qubesoftware.com. If we agree to a refund, in full or in part, it appears on your family plan at account.qubesoftware.com for 14 days: choose Get my refund and confirm with a fresh code from your email. The money goes back to the card you paid with. We won't agree to refund a plan used against these terms, for example with automated or scripted play.

A refund ends your plan at once: it lapses, as described below. Each account can have one refund. To stop paying without one, cancel, and your plan runs to the end of the year you've paid for.

If the law where you live gives you a right to cancel or withdraw from an online purchase, you keep it. Link may also refund a payment itself, for example when a charge is disputed or a question to us goes unanswered. A payment refunded by Link or by your card issuer ends your plan like any other refund, and is your account's refund.

If a renewal doesn't go through

If Stripe can't charge your card at renewal, your devices keep backing up for 14 days while it tries again. To fix it, sign in at account.qubesoftware.com and choose Update your card, which opens Stripe's billing page after a fresh code from your email. If no payment goes through within those 14 days, your plan lapses.

When a plan lapses

A plan lapses when it ends: when a cancelled plan reaches the end of its paid year, when a payment is refunded, or 14 days after a renewal that didn't go through. While a plan is needed to back up, then:

  • Games keep playing, free, and the progress saved on each device stays there. Nothing we do when a plan lapses touches the progress on a device.
  • Devices stop backing up, and you can't link new devices or add profiles until you rejoin. You can still sign in, and see, download, and delete your family's information.
  • We email you when the plan lapses, and again 14 days before your backups are deleted, from codes@mail.qubesoftware.com. (A lapse while nothing needs a plan pauses nothing; its 90 days, and these emails, start only once a plan is needed.)
  • 90 days after the lapse, your family's backups are deleted: each profile's backed-up progress, receipts, snapshots, and imports, and its device links. Your account and your profiles stay. To keep a copy, download each profile's data at account.qubesoftware.com before then.

Rejoining

You can rejoin any time, for US$5 per year, at account.qubesoftware.com. A new paid year starts on the day you rejoin, and nothing is charged for the time in between.

  • Within 90 days of the lapse, everything is where you left it: backups pick up where they stopped, and device links that haven't expired work again. (A link expires after 90 days without use, and 180 days after linking at the latest.)
  • After that, backups start empty. A device keeps its own copy of a profile's progress, and once you approve it again, it can offer that progress for you to review and add, in games that support it, such as Dragon Hatchery.

Deleting your account

Deleting your account at account.qubesoftware.com cancels your family plan at Stripe at once, and doesn't refund a payment. Parent Rights lists everything else deleting your account removes.

Who sells the plan

The family plan is sold through Stripe Managed Payments. Stripe is the merchant of record: you buy the plan from Link, Stripe's checkout, which sells it for us, works out and pays any sales tax or VAT, handles disputed charges, and sends your receipts and renewal reminders. Your card statement shows a charge starting with LINK.COM*. Your payment is also covered by Link's own terms, which you see at checkout: they govern the payment itself (charging your card, receipts, tax, and disputed charges), and these terms govern Qube accounts and what the family plan gives you.

You pay on Stripe's own checkout page, which the account site sends you to; nothing of Stripe's runs on our pages, and we never see your card. We give Stripe an id for your account and the plan's price, and nothing about a profile or a child. Changing your card and seeing your receipts happen on Stripe's billing page too. The Privacy Policy lists what Stripe and Link receive.

The service

We work hard to keep Qube accounts running and your family's backups safe, but we can't promise the service will always be available, or free of errors. If it's unavailable, games keep playing, and backups catch up when it's back. A device's own copy of a profile's progress is the best protection against losing it: please don't clear a game's site data on a device whose progress isn't backed up.

We may change, add, or remove features. If we stop offering the family plan or Qube accounts, we'll tell you at least 60 days before, stop all renewals, give you time to download your family's information, and refund your most recent payment in full.

Using Qube accounts fairly

Please don't:

  • add a profile for a child unless you're their parent or legal guardian;
  • share your account with another household, or sell or transfer it, or the family plan;
  • try to get into another family's account or information, or test or get around our security, limits, or payments;
  • use automated tools or scripts to play or host games, sign in, link devices, or send requests, or overload the service; or
  • use Qube accounts to break the law, or to harm a child or anyone else.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules or puts a child, another family, or the service at risk. Unless the law or someone's safety stops us, we'll tell you why first and give you a chance to put it right. If we close your account for a reason that isn't your breaking these terms, we'll refund your most recent payment in full. You can always delete your account yourself.

Feedback

We'd love to hear your ideas, problems, and suggestions. If you send us any, we may use them to improve Qube, freely and without owing you anything for them. We'll never share your name or your family's information when we do.

Warranties and liability

Qube accounts and the family plan are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, Qube, LLC makes no warranties beyond those in these terms, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and doesn't promise that backups can never be lost.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Qube, LLC isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data or lost game progress beyond what we can restore, and its total liability for any claim about Qube accounts or the family plan is limited to the greater of what you paid us for the family plan in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50.

Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits a liability the law doesn't let us limit, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or takes away your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.

Governing law and disputes

Qube, LLC is based in Utah, in the United States. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah and of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you live outside the United States, you also keep the protections that the consumer law where you live gives you, and you may bring a claim in the courts where you live.

If something goes wrong, please email us first at admin@qubesoftware.com, and give us 60 days to try to put it right: most problems can be fixed that way. If we can't settle it, either of us may bring a claim in small claims court, if it qualifies. Otherwise, any claim must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Utah, and you and we agree to those courts' jurisdiction. Claims may be brought only individually, not as a class or representative action, to the extent the law allows.

Language

These terms are written in English. If we ever offer them in another language, the English version applies where the two differ, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Qube accounts grow. If a change matters to what you keep, what you can do, or what you pay, we'll tell you on the account site and by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don't agree with a change, you can cancel before it applies and have your most recent payment back in full; using Qube accounts after it applies means you accept it. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version.

We won't raise your price while you keep the launch rate. If we ever change the price of a plan you hold, we'll tell you at least 30 days before your next renewal, and the new price applies only from a renewal after that notice.

General

These terms, with the Privacy Policy, Data Retention, and Parent Rights pages they link to, are the whole agreement between you and Qube, LLC about Qube accounts and the family plan. If any part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a part straight away, we haven't given it up. We may transfer these terms to a company that takes over Qube accounts, and we'll tell you if we do; your rights under them go with it.
